AV is often one of the largest line items in a conference budget, and one of the least transparent. Venue contracts can include exclusivity clauses, patch and power fees, and rigging restrictions that only show up once it's too late to negotiate.

We've worked inside large in-house AV operations and now run an independent company, so we know how these quotes get built and where the room to negotiate usually is.
