Mountain venues, city-level production
Banff and Lake Louise are some of the most popular destinations in Canada for conferences, incentive trips and leadership retreats. They also come with logistics a city ballroom doesn't. Gear has to travel up the Trans-Canada, load-in windows at busy resorts can be tight, and winter roads can change a schedule overnight.
Being based in Calgary helps. Banff is roughly 90 minutes from our shop and Lake Louise a little further, so there's no airfreight and no flying crew in. If something extra is needed mid-event, it's a drive away.

Planning notes for Rockies events
Build weather into the schedule
For winter events we plan load-in with a buffer and keep an eye on highway conditions the day before. It's a small cost compared with a late truck.
Ask the resort about AV terms early
Mountain resorts commonly have in-house AV arrangements. Get the outside-vendor terms in writing before you sign. Our guide to bringing outside AV into a venue covers what to ask.
Retreats need flexible rooms
Leadership retreats tend to move between plenary sessions, breakouts and evening events, sometimes in the same room. We plan the AV so a room can be reset quickly without a full strike.
How we staff out-of-town shows
How we staff a show outside Calgary depends on the show. Sometimes our full crew and gear travel with us. Sometimes our core team flies in and works alongside local crew. We'll tell you which approach fits your event, and why, when we quote.
Either way, one of our founders leads the show. That's the person you planned it with, and they'll be the calm voice on headset when it runs.

How far is Banff from your shop?
About 90 minutes from Calgary, with Lake Louise a little further. Most Rockies events don't need flights or airfreight.
Can we use an outside AV company at a Banff resort?
Often, yes, but it depends on the resort's terms. Some charge outside-vendor fees. Check the contract before you sign, and we're happy to review it with you.
Do you handle winter events in the mountains?
Yes. We build buffer time into load-in and watch highway conditions so weather doesn't put the show at risk.
